Guillaume Jehl, trumpet

Guillaume Jehl has been principal trumpet of the Berliner Philharmoniker since the 2020/21 season, with which he joined in 2009. In addition to his work in the orchestra, he performs as a soloist and is involved in the Philharmonic's brass ensemble.
Guillaume Jehl began playing the trumpet at the age of eight. He graduated with honors from the Mulhouse Conservatory and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse in Paris. He went on to study baroque trumpet at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, at whose music academy he is also a teacher.
In 1998, at the age of 20, he received his first engagement as 2nd trumpet in the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine, two years later he played in the same position in the Orchestre NAtional de France. In 2001 Guillaume Jehl became principal trumpet in the Basel Symphony Orchestra. In 2006 he returned to the Orchestre National de France in the same position before moving to Berlin to join the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2009.
